Heart Rhythm Management
Experienced in the assessment of symptoms commonly associated with heart rhythm problems including palpitation dizziness and blackouts.
Access to a wide range of diagnostic tools including:
- ECG
- Ambulatory monitoring
- Exercise testing
- Cardiac imaging
- Invasive electrophysiological testing
Able to treat wide variety of heart rhythm disorders including with catheter ablation of supra-ventricular tachycardias, atrial fibrillation and ventricular extra-systoles.
Experience in the assessment of patients at risk of slow heart rhythms and treatment with pacemaker implant and follow-up.
Expert in risk assessment for sudden cardiac death and able to implant ICDs including S-ICD.
Inherited Arrhythmia Syndromes
Expert in the diagnosis, risk stratification and treatment of patients and families at risk from inherited arrhythmia syndromes.
Inherited arrhythmia syndromes such as Long QT Syndrome, Brugada Syndrome and Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy including the assessment of families where a sudden unexplained death has occurred.
With focus on:
- Diagnostic investigations
- Risk assessment tools
- Access to and knowledge of genetic testing
Sports Cardiology
Experienced in pre-participation screening of athletes, including having worked with elite athletes/teams previously, including interpretation of ECG and cardiac imaging in athletes
Management of the symptomatic athlete including those presenting with palpitations, fainting (and unexplained decrease in exercise capacity).
